Random Act at Takashimaya

I was at Takashimaya this morning briefly for a quick breakfast of Ya Kun Kaya Toast and purchase of a diary/calendar of 2008. As I was about finishing my breakie an old gentleman with his two granddaughters were looking for seats and so they joined my table. He went off to buy them lunch and asked them to look after his bag. The one thing that caught my attention and the lady who finished eating (seated next to my table) were how -cute- the girls are.

I agree with her, "they are sooo cute". She goes, "not just cute, they are so beautiful". They were, in my estimation, would be around 6-7 years of age. The youngest one was a bit shy at first and hide behind her grandpa's bag. I kept thinking, "man, if only I could take a picture of them", but that wouldn't be right.

I was glad that they were not a bit shy later on. I chatted with them. Found that they just came from temple with their grandpa. Their second uncle just dropped them there. They were not siblings but cousins. I was really impressed that they speak good english. Their grandpa bought them fishball noodles and went off again to buy his lunch.

All this while, I've finished eating my breakfast and would have left but I think to myself it would be best for me to sit for awhile first and keep a look out on them. Their grandpa came back with his lunch. He thanked me, "xie2 ni", to which I responded, "mei wen thi". That's one pleasant random act at Takashimaya today. But what I am pleased most is that, unlike "typical" Singaporean, the two -cute- little girls are friendly and can hold conversation with me. I kinda miss Aussie actually.

Anyway, Merry CHRISTmas & a Happy New Year 2008, everyone~!!!
