A Moment to Consider - Making Changes (Adapted)

I heard about a fellow who dialed a number and got the following recording: "I am not available right now, but thank you for caring enough to call. I am making some changes in my life. Please leave a message after the beep. If I do not return your call, you are one of the changes."

Part of being a Christian involves change. Christianity is a growing and maturing process, and both necessitate making changes. For some of us, it means changing the language we used to use, changing the places where we used to hang out, changing the way we used to spend our money, or maybe even changing the people we used to associate with.

Paul described the Christian life as being like someone who changes -- taking off one set of clothing and putting on a new set:

"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." (Ephesians 4:22-24)
